Commitment to Environment

Pembroke MDF is committed to operating our facility in a manner that protects the environment and ensures the well-being of our neighbors. We keep this commitment by maintaining strict compliance with Canada’s federal and provincial environmental regulations and making the environment an integral part of our facility’s planning and decision-making process.

The production of MDF uses 100% recycled fiber material, which is generated from local saw mills through sustainable forestry practices. We rely on the natural environment to provide the resources we need to keep producing our products. That’s why maintaining a sustainable facility with a low environmental impact is our top priority.

Commitment to Business

Our supply of raw material comes from wood chips and sawdust purchased from regional sawmills and chipping facilities. We use both softwood and hardwood species in our process.

We also purchase bark from sawmills to supply our energy system.

The wood supply region includes most of eastern Ontario and part of Western Quebec.

In keeping with our environmentally conscious approach to business, all fiber purchases are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council for chain of custody and controlled wood.
